From the first day that I stepped into a Professional Wrestling ring, I knew that this is what I wanted to do with my life. I never knew where this crazy journey would take me, and I never knew what obstacles I would have to face and overcome, but I knew that the journey as a Professional Wrestler is what I wanted. Over the last almost nine years, I have accomplished most of the goals that I set out for myself. My goals were always step-by-step milestones to ultimately reach my dreams. For example: I wanted to complete training, then have my first match, then win my first match, and then travel to other towns, etc. I wanted to set small goals that would gradually get bigger with time. Lately, I set some goals that I believed were my end-game. Goals that would almost be impossible (at least, in my own mind) to obtain. The goals were as follows:
Lately, I've had some time to reflect on my accomplishments, and I've realized that even though it has probably taken longer than some people expected, I have accomplished five of the six major goals on this list. I've held the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship (and technically am still champ), I currently own a complete training facility, I have performed overseas in London, I have been seen on WWE programming four times, including two matches on Monday Night RAW, and this past Sunday I performed at the huge NWA 70th Anniversary show in Nashville on FITE TV, which was a Pay-Per-View event. Now, obviously that only leads to one other goal left to achieve on this list. To sign a contract and make a living as a Professional Wrestler has been a dream of mine for the longest time. And now, with upcoming opportunities that are actually starting THIS WEEKEND, that goal may be closer than ever before to being achieved. It is even to the point to where I am unable to commit to any dates in 2019 until my future is set in stone. And I know I am the king of being vague, but I promise you, as soon as I am able to talk about what is going on, I will. And you know what? Even if I do not sign some kind of contract, that's okay. It is even more incentive to continue doing what I do best: learn and improve. I have always said that it is not about the destination, but it is about the journey. And let me tell you, despite the many obstacles and trials that I have had to face during my almost nine-year career, I would not have changed one thing. The journey made me who I am, the journey made me into the person I am going to become. The journey has shown me that the hard work, blood, sweat, tears, and pain have all been worth it. And this journey has been MINE. I hear all the time from different people that "my time should have already come", but I have to disagree. I don't want to be handed anything. Where is the sense of accomplishment in being handed your goals and dreams? Spending the last near-decade growing and learning has given me such an appreciation of this business and the roads I've traveled, that at this point, I feel like I have actually worked hard enough to actually earn the chances and opportunities in my path. So, to me, no, my time should not have already come. But now, I'm more than ready to take that ball and run with it. Put me in, coach. No. Better yet, put US in. Because without all of you reading this, without all of you that have supported me, this timid kid from little Seven Points, TX would not have bet on himself. You believed in me before I ever considered believing in myself. And for that, thank you. I plan on making this all happen for you and even the ones that were against me. Let's make it six out of six. See you soon. -BB
